With the recent momentum of Afrobeats music gaining more global recognition and accolades as it continues to spread its infectious energy and rhythm across cultures and continents, it’s no surprise that Japan has caught the bug.
Japan is joining the Afrobeats movement with Afro Jam, its very first Afrobeats festival, and Rema is set to headline this exciting event, which will take place at the Okinawa Arena from July 18 to 20, 2025.
The 10,000 capacity venue will also host several international stars like Jason Derulo and Shenseea, adding even more excitement to the lineup.
As one of Afrobeats' most prominent global ambassadors, Rema is renowned for his chart-topping hits like Calm Down and Dumebi, which have captivated audiences worldwide.
With his headlining role at Japan’s Afrojam, Rema continues to cement his place as a significant force propelling African music to new heights and introducing its vibrant culture to other communities. He’s also set to perform at Coachella next year, joining other African artists like Seun Kuti at the world-famous festival.
This landmark event also serves a cultural exchange; an intersection of African and Asian communities, connecting fans from diverse backgrounds through music.
